Posted on October 18, 2017

Our October meetup will be hosted by M2Mobi. Food and drinks will be provided.

Doors open: 18.00

Presentations start: 19.00

Speakers will be Thomas Gmelig Meyling and Donny Wals.

Thomas Gmelig Meyling - Image Processing and OCR, and its applications.
With high quality camera's and great processing power, iPhones are more capable for complex Image Processing tasks than ever. In this presentation we will go through several open source libraries that cover barcode scanning and OCR and how to use them in a Swift environment. The two domains in which the examples are applied are flight tickets and car dashboards (in particular the mileage meter for registration).

Donny Wals - Me and my importers
Beschrijving: CoreData isn’t always the easiest framework to use. Especially if your app has a complex setup where reading data and writing data can often cross-over each other. In this talk I will go over my own experiences with a large and complex CoreData setup that uses concurrency and multiple contexts to import a huge amount of data from several api endpoints through a pipeline that makes use of an OperationQueue.

After the talks there will be time to ask de presenters loads of questions or have a drink with them.
